Benefits of a Silk Pillowcase

As used by all the celebrities! And a big yes with the kardashians... Now I'm on a need to know basis ;-)...

We would all want our beach waves, keeping hair moisture or a bouncy blowdry to last as many days as possible. the silk pillowcase is a welcome change to hair texture, than from a conventional pillowcase. Its'perfect in helping to calm down frizz on natural hair and extensions, and hair extensions just gently glide over the surface giving a much better nights sleep especially after a first fitting or maintenance.

Have you ever gone into work with visible creases on your face from last night's sleep? That's because try as much to sleep on your back so your face isn't touching the pillow, you tend to inevitably end up just pressing down scrunching up on your face! That's where a silk pillowcase changes everything as you hardly or even should I say never have a single crease in your entire face. Being the anti-aging obsessive I am, (those who know me now that lol) I am very aware of the fact that sleep creases are like ironing wrinkles on the skin.

100% Mulberry silk pillowcases are soft to the touch and just lovely to sleep on. They have so many benefits for everyone that they are fast becoming an essential part of peoples sleep ritual.

Natural silk is one of the strongest natural fibres. It contains essential amino acids and proteins which help reduce signs of ageing. It doesn't draw back into it, the night creams you may have added wherea,s the cotton or polyester do exactly that whether you have any creams on or not, so absorbing moisture from the skin, not good as it's the night time that the skin likes to repair itself.

I would recommend a 100% pure 19 momme weight silk, crafted from high quality 600 thread count mulberry silk.

Silk is a breathable fabric and a natural temperature regulator, helping us to keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

It is hypoallergenic and does not attract dust mites and is a natural fungal repellent and is therefore beneficial to asthma and allergy sufferers.

The smooth and soft texture of these pillowcases is beneficial to people with eczema and other skin conditions.

As silk does not conduct much static electricity, it is good for hair, reducing thinning and hair breakage. This is especially beneficial for babies heads as sleeping on silk helps reduce the occurrence of bald patches on the back of their heads.

Amino acids, found in 100% natural silk is known to aid the central nervous system and evoke calmness thus helping towards a peaceful nights sleep.

The one I purchased has a cotton back which I found better as it doesn't slide over the bottom sheet.

Expect to pay around £10-30 for each pillowcase but to be worth every penny... Just try you'll find you will never go back to a conventional pillowcase again.
